Today was the 2012 American Heart Association Heart Walk. Cat and I got up at 7:30 (an ungawdly hour on a Saturday!), had some breakfast and made our way down to Seattle Center by 9 AM. This was our first time attending and we didn’t know what to expect. It was so packed! The Center was filled to the brim with groups from hospitals, gyms, local businesses, and friends and families of survivors and those who lost their battle with heart disease. It was inspiring to say the least, and a wonderful bonding experience with my sister. We look forward to doing it again next year, but next time we’ll be dressed up to the nines in red tutus, red boas, and red headgear. Forreal!
Afterwards, we met up with our folks at ny brother’s restaraunt, 8 oz Burger Bar. They recently revamped their menu to include more fall-centric offerings, such as Wild Boar Chili. They also started a Bloody Mary Bar, and since it was so aptly named considering the morning’s activity and because it was, well, a Bloody Mary, I ordered one. 😉
Now, I’m catching up on 666 Park Ave and will hit the gym afterwards. Gotta keep my ticker healthy!
