New Year’s Resolution 1: Live life well

“What’s new kid?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing’s a drag.”

I heard those lines in a movie a long time ago. Do you find yourself saying “Nothing” when someone asks you that question? I do. But in fact, everyday I do something new and I bet you do too. We’re too wrapped up in financial trouble, work issues, arguments with family, and self pity to see it.

On one of my rants of how boring my life is, someone expressed surprise that I felt that way. To me, I was “stuck in a foreign country, have few real friends, and work all the time.” But to him, I get to travel the world, meet a lot of interesting people, and set my own hours. That was my wake up call.

I’ve trained myself to feel sorry for myself. So in 2013 this blog will serve as my reminder of all the new things I’ve done, so that next time someone asks my that question, I’ll be ready with a really good answer.

Resolution 2: Get fit

J and I have been together for 7 years now, I’ll be turning 31 one this year, so you know what that means: baby-talking time. I’m still not 100% sure if I want them, but if I do, I will probably need to get started in 2014. So that means this summer is potentially the last pre-baby summer I’ll ever have. After that realization, I’m determined to have a bangin’ body and flaunt it this summer. I’m going to try to post my workouts and progress here to keep myself motivated.
