Girl Power Hour (GPH) started 10 years ago, building a community for women in Seattle and Bellevue to network in an engaging, creative, and stylish way. Events were held each month to bring together fun, successful women for an evening devoted to sharing ideas, building connections and making new friends.
I attended my first GPH event at the Pan Pacific Hotel for their G1 Anniversary party, and quickly became a regular. At the time I was working on Innervibe, the first company Jesse and I had together, and provided our vibrating couple’s rings and packages to GPH events whenever I could. GPH provided many opportunities to meet great, like-minded, business savvy and entrepreneurial women in Seattle. I was sad to read three years ago that they would be taking a break from their monthly events.
Well, Girl Power Hour (GPH) is back after a three year hiatus, and they’re kicking 2017 off with two happy hour networking events in Seattle and Bellevue.
From founder Darnell Sue:
This time around, we are focusing on what we feel is (most) important – providing a space for women (you) to connect, collaborate and exchange ideas in a safe place – over cocktails (always over cockatils!). This time, however, there won’t be a “Power Team” or a designated host, but rather, multiple women in each community who (have and) want to stand up on their own accord to host or co-host events in their neighborhoods and communities locally and now, across the nation, because, they (and all of you) are powerful and you realize the importance of such opportunity. Now is the time for us to go to work…for us to make a difference; together we can do that.
Set your calendars for Wednesday, January 11th at Art Marble in Seattle. This will be a free event with drink specials. Add to calendar.
The other event will be help in Bellevue at Suite Restaurant on Tuesday, January 10th. Join the party.
If you are a venue and you would like to host a future event or if you would like to host or co-host an event, please reach out to Darnell Sue at firstname.lastname@example.org.
